Although I paint with abstraction, my intention is to depict the nature of a horse with great realism. My hope is to show that this is a performance horse that has just finished loping circles and is taking a well-deserved rest while the rider does the same. The tapestry inspired imagery relates to the saddle blanket and the embroidery on the rider's shirt.
