The Cowboy

“The Cowboy” represents an ionic image of the West. It was inspired by a real cowboy neighbor living along the Yellowstone River in Montana. There is so much to celebrate about their authentic and historic way of life. This piece also pulls in a Miles City, MT newspaper from 1880s called, “The Yellowstone Daily.” Miles City, was historic for many reasons including the long cattle drives from Texas. Locals still share tales of the real cowboys that inspired the Lonesome Dove series. This is a unique hand painted mixed media piece that includes traditional acrylics, digital hand painting and digital collage. Hope you enjoy!
